The mission of the WFCA is to respond to the challenges of a changing industry, and to ensure greater protection of life and property from fire, natural and man-made disasters, or other sudden emergencies, by providing leadership, direction, and education to its members and affiliate organizations.

The WSFFA represents the interests of more than 18,000 volunteer firefighters in Washington State and has been in existence for more than 75 years. Funded by a 2008 SAFER (Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response) grant from FEMA, CTI is partnering with the Association to improve volunteer firefighter recruiting and retention programs.

The OFDDA represents more than 150 Oregon fire districts and focuses on fire safety education, agency coordination and legislative efforts. The association provides expertise to CTI on a variety of initiatives.

The CPSE promotes continuous quality improvement by providing training and career resource information for the fire and emergency service agencies and personnel that serve communities throughout the United States. The Center is a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation.

National Interop provides consulting, design, installation, training and written operational procedures for public safety and emergency communications systems nationwide. The company’s expertise is driven by a team of public safety and technology professionals with deep subject matter expertise in radio, communication systems, advanced IP solutions and strategic consulting services for government and other agencies.

21-6 Productions is an independent game development firm with extensive software development and management experience in software development, computer art creation, and game design and production. 21-6 Productions’ most recently released game, TubeTwist, won the first annual Independent Game Developers Showcase award at E3, was selected as the Best Single Player Game and Best Overall Game at the IndiGamesCon, and was nominated for an award in Technical Excellence at the Independent Games Festival.

Nick Luppa, lead instructional designer on such CTI interactive initiatives as Fully Involved and Fire Safety for Kids, is a former instructional design leader at Bank of America, Hewlett-Packard and Apple’s Learning Technologies Group. While working for Paramount Pictures in 1997 Mr. Luppa became the principal designer of the StoryDrive Engine Project for the Defense Modeling and Simulation Office of the United States Army. This project sought to create a story-based simulation training system leveraging powerful movie-style storytelling. Mr. Luppa was also the principle instructional designer for the US Army’s Advanced Leadership Training Simulation (ALTSIM) and Paramount’s project lead on the Army’s Leaders Simulation Training Program. He holds a masters degree from Stanford University in Psychology of Communication.

Donald Hantula
Temple University

Dr. Donald Hantula, director of the Decision Making Laboratory at Temple, is an organizational psychologist and university professor who consults with Compelling Technologies on the company’s Firefighter Injury assessment and analysis initiative. His research combines themes of evolutionary theory, technology, performance management and decision making, and he has published more than 75 scholarly articles. Dr. Hantula is Executive Editor of the Journal of Social Psychology and recently completed a term on the Decision, Risk, & Management Sciences panel of the National Science Foundation.
